~IN THE BRIGHT SKY–as Ignorance

~IN THE BRIGHT SKY–as Ignorance by Hannah Gosselin

In the bright sky — as ignorance —

The fledgling flies unsure —

Stretches his black feather — much fear —

His disbelief — distress —

Previously — in the nest —

Motionless his ivory sphere —

The egg life — remembered — then —

In sorrow — and sky —

Through the Dark Sod — as Education by Emily Dickinson

Through the Dark Sod — as Education —
The Lily passes sure —
Feels her white foot — no trepidation —
Her faith — no fear —

Afterward — in the Meadow —
Swinging her Beryl Bell —
The Mold-life — all forgotten — now —
In Ecstasy — and Dell —

This is written in response to NaPoWriMo Prompt Day Nineteen: Write an opposite poem of a poem that already exists.

I wrote an opposite of Emily Dickenson’s, “Through the Dark Sod — as Education,” (above).
